Calculators

Free calculators for maths, study and everyday sums.

Work out vector projections in 2D and 3D with the working shown — the first of Fixpio’s calculators, with more maths and study calculators on the way. Everything runs in your browser: no sign-up, nothing uploaded.

Answers with steps

Every calculator shows the working, not just the result — so you can check homework or follow the method.

About our calculators

This page collects Fixpio’s calculators — tools that work out an answer and show you how they got it. It starts with the Orthogonal Projection Calculator, which projects one vector onto another in 2D or 3D and returns the vector projection, the scalar projection, the orthogonal component and the angle between the vectors, with every substitution listed. More maths and study calculators will join it here as they are built.

Each calculator runs in your browser, using your own device to do the maths, so the numbers you type are never uploaded or stored. There is no sign-up and nothing to install — open a calculator, enter your values, and read the answer with its working. Where an answer can be checked, Fixpio’s calculators check it: the projection calculator, for example, verifies that the projection and the orthogonal component add back to the original vector before you rely on it.

Start with the job you have: the Orthogonal Projection Calculator for linear algebra and physics problems — decomposing a force, a velocity or any vector into the part along a direction and the part perpendicular to it. If your task is a conversion rather than a calculation, the unit converters cover measurements, and the full directory is on the tools hub.
