Excel to PDF Converter

A working spreadsheet is easy to change — sometimes too easy, when all you wanted was to share the figures. Fixpio’s excel to pdf converter takes one sheet from your workbook and turns it into a fixed PDF, ready to email or file. Bring an XLS or XLSX file, or use the same page for a csv to pdf export from your accounts, shop or database software. The whole job runs in your browser, so the numbers stay on your own machine from start to finish.

Works with .xls, .xlsx and .csv files. If the workbook holds more than one sheet, you will pick which sheet to convert. The PDF is a basic table of cell values — charts, pictures and elaborate styling are left out.

Why send a sheet as a PDF?

Three ordinary situations where a fixed file beats a live workbook.

Expenses and claims, settled

Many finance teams and claim portals ask for PDF attachments. Converting your expense sheet before you submit means the totals the approver sees are exactly the totals you checked.

Figures for people without Excel

Clients, suppliers and managers often just need to read the numbers. An excel sheet to pdf snapshot opens on a phone or an office PC alike, with no licence and no "which program opens this?" reply.

A record that stops moving

Month-end figures, a quoted price list, a stock count — once converted, the file records what the sheet said on that day, even after the workbook itself is edited next month.

About this converter

A spreadsheet to pdf handover usually happens at the edge of a business: a quote leaving for a customer, a delivery schedule going to a partner who keeps no spreadsheet software, monthly numbers sent upward for a quick read. This excel to pdf converter runs online in your browser for exactly those moments — open the page, convert, attach the file, done. Nothing to install, and no copy of your data resting on someone else’s computer afterwards.

The page reads the formats spreadsheets genuinely arrive in: current XLSX workbooks, older XLS files still produced by long-lived systems, and plain CSV exports. That makes xls to pdf and xlsx to pdf jobs a single stop rather than two tools. What comes back is deliberately plain — the cell values of the sheet you chose, set out as a readable table. Treat it as a quick, private snapshot of the numbers; for a presentation-grade export with charts, images and tuned page setup, Excel’s own Save as PDF remains the better instrument.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about sheets, formats and what the PDF leaves out.

How do I convert an Excel spreadsheet to a PDF on this page?

Add your file with the picker above. If the workbook contains several sheets, choose the one you need, then press Convert to PDF. Your browser builds the PDF and offers it as a download — three steps, and at no point does the file travel to a server.

My workbook has several sheets. Which of them end up in the PDF?

The one you select. Each conversion handles a single sheet, so if you need a second sheet as well, run the file through again and choose that sheet — you will get a separate PDF for it. CSV files have no sheets to choose from; the whole file is converted as one table.

Will my formatting, charts and images appear in the PDF?

No — please expect a plain result. This converter works from cell values only: the words and numbers in your cells, including the results your formulas calculated, are laid out as a simple table. Charts, images, colours and complex styling are not carried over, and exact column widths or print areas set in Excel may not be reproduced, so a very wide sheet can paginate differently from Excel’s print preview. Give the PDF a quick check before sending it; if you need an export that mirrors a carefully formatted workbook page for page, create it from Excel itself instead.

Can I turn a CSV file into a PDF here too?

Yes. CSV exports from accounting packages, online shops, CRMs and databases convert in exactly the same way: add the .csv file, convert, and the rows and columns come back as a table in a PDF. It is a handy route when a system hands you raw data but a person or a portal is asking for a document.

Are the figures in my spreadsheet uploaded anywhere?

No. The reading and converting happen inside your browser, on your own device. Your file is not transmitted to us, not stored by us and not visible to anyone else — a sensible arrangement for the payroll runs, margins and customer lists that fill everyday spreadsheets. Close the tab and nothing of the file remains anywhere but with you.

Can I use this without Microsoft Excel, and does it cost anything?

Yes to both parts of that. The converter runs in an ordinary web browser on a computer, tablet or phone, so Excel does not need to be installed — you only need the file itself, saved as XLS, XLSX or CSV. Converting is free, with no account and no sign-up before you start.
